* Your first step towards buying a good car stereo is to avoid trying to buy one that is more suitable for the home. A home stereo is unlikely to fit well into the space in your vehicle meant for the audio system. Car stereos have totally different dimensions meant especially for that space beneath the dashboard.
* Try and get some basic knowledge of the terms associated with a car stereo. For example: that sound which erupts from the amplifier is referred to as RMS Power Output and is spoken of in terms of Watts.
* Get speakers that have a good frequency range, preferably in the range of 20 – 20, 000 Hz.
* Use good quality cleaning kits not just for the system itself, but also for the speakers.
* Avoid pretending to be an expert when your car stereo system malfunctions – take it for repairs to the real experts!
